How to secure a 73 series number plate.
The 73 number plate release date is next month, and almost 8,000,000 new registration combinations will be released into circulation by the DVLA.
The fact that the release is so close means that it’s incredibly important to register your interest in a 73 series number plate as soon as possible, and the best place to do that is right here at National Numbers.
As a business, our success rate for securing number plates is superb, and we’ve fulfilled 98% of orders made by our customers. In fact, we’ve been buying private registrations since the very first “A” number plate series back in 1983, so it’s fair to say we know what we’re doing.

How to choose the perfect name-based 73 series number plate.
Choosing a name private number plate is a tricky decision to say the least. There are a few popular ways of going about it, however, and we’re here to help you decide.
Names are one of the most popular private number plate options out there, and they’re a great option for those with three letter forenames, short surnames, or nicknames.
With the 73 series number plates, however, there are lots of options that work fantastically well for names that are tricky to spell with other number plate formats.
Peter is a great example of a name number plate that’s perfect for the 73 series, as all you need is PE73 and any three letter combination at the end to craft the word “Pete”. You can quite easily make “Peters” with PE73 ERS, and “Peteys” with PE73 EYS, as well as a range of other options.
That’s good news for the likes of Peter Sampras, Evan Peters, and Peter Shilton, then!
Another brilliant option for the 73 series number plate release is Kate, which can be easily spelt with KA73 XXX.
A few examples of famous Kates who could enjoy the 73 number plate release include Kate Middleton with KA73 HRH, HRH standing for Her Royal Highness, Kate Hudson with KA73 HUD, Kate Winslet with KA73 WNS, and Kate Beckinsale who could choose between KA73 BEC or KA73 BEK.
Oh, and there’s our personal favourite, Kate Bush, who should definitely be in the market for KA73 BSH.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to names for the 73 series number plate release.
Allenby is a popular surname in the UK, which could be immortalised with the private number plate AL73 NBY, as could the slightly less common British name Celeste, or CE73 STE, among many others.
We could go all day with these, to be honest, so it’s best to give our sales team a call on 01642 363738 to drill down on a 73 number plate that works for you and your name.

The golden rule for buying a new private number plate.
We’ve mentioned it countless times in blog posts, on our website, via social media posts, and over the phone, but we’ll say it again.
You cannot make a car look newer than it is with a private number plate.
To further explain this, millennium (new style) number plates include what’s called an age identifier. For the upcoming 73 release, the age identifier is the 73, which denotes the year 2023. This means that to own a 73 series number plate, your vehicle must have been manufactured from September 2023 onwards.
So, you aren’t allowed to put a 73 series number plate on a vehicle you already have, as it will make it look newer than it is, which isn’t allowed.
